Large 7 Inch High Antique Chinese Qing Carved Figural Double Sided Agate Jar Bottle Urn Featuring a High Relief Floral Stylized Landscape with Figure on One Side and a Profile of a Bird on the Reverse

Qing circa 19th century.

7 inches h. overall including carved agate plinth base x 3.25 inches w. x 1.75 inches d.

Provenance: Tampa Bay, FL sale of estate items, 2017.

Condition: Generally sound and attractive estate discovery condition. Formerly mounted as a lamp, there is plaster and a central rod upwards from the underside of the main body above the plinth base. There is an intact chip or a crack at the rear lower edge below the bird and a repaired chip on one side of the plinth carved into the central piece. The lid has apparently been banded closed with brass. There is a moderate chip at the site of the lid band in front under the top central blossom. There is a small flake to the top right leaf tip. There is a chip and smaller flakes to the top of the separate plinth base.
